Senior Youth Club opening Invite
The senior youth club was opened on September 22nd 1951 in an old hut behind the fire station in Croydon Road.

Some of the older boys mucked-in and renovated it and I think it was opened by Mary Soames. There were a good number of us who joined and we used to take part in various activities. I remember that we used to go swimming in the lake at Squerryes Lodge, which was a bit weedy and muddy, but good fun, and we held competitions and quiz nights as well and I always enjoyed those…”
