English's cafe and sweet shop

Fred Webb traces his way up his childhood High Street  “…next door to Lucas’s sweet shop, opposite New Street was Fullers watch-makers and repairers I remember. If you went on further down the High Street there was Wood’s the greengrocers, then the blacksmith’s forge on Verrall’s corner, but on the other side of the road there was a cafe, I think it was English’s, and I quite often used to go in there and have a chat and a cup of tea or drink of some sort…”
