Motorcars outside the George & Dragon pub circa 1920
The car closest to the pavement and the one half out of shot on the left are Model T Fords. The doorway with the curtained window on the left of the photograph was the site of the ‘Ostlery’ of the establishment where horses and carriages would have been booked some fifteen or so years before this photograph was taken.
In those early years of the motoring age the George & Dragon now offered ‘Motor Sheds’ probably with a pit for running repairs and greasing of springs, and the services of the Royal Automobile Club were also on hand if needed.
